Public Hearing Information - The Board of Elementary and Secondary Education formally announced that it will hold a public hearing on Monday, April 27, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. at the War Memorial Building, 310 Appleton Street, Holyoke, MA.  This is a powerful opportunity for the Holyoke community to respectfully speak with the Board regarding Massachusetts Commissioner of Elementary and Secondary Education Mitchell D. Important Notice Regarding MCAS Testing Schedule Change– Attention Families and Staff -
In light of the inclement weather and multiple school cancellations from this past winter, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education is supporting adoption of an alternative schedule for MCAS test administration. Holyoke's administration dates have been revised accordingly: below is our MCAS schedule for the rest of school year 2014-15. 

Grade 10 Mathematics
Mathematics Session 1 on May 19th and Session 2 on May 20th

High School STE
Session 1 on June 8th | Session 2 on June 9th

DESE has also extended the testing window to all districts for the following:
Grades 3-8
Mathematics and STE - extended to May 11th - 26th

Holyoke Codes Free Workshops to Holyoke Students in April

Volunteer Coaches Needed -
Eddie Caisse and the Hampden County Sheriff's Department runs a youth basketball program for our students and they are seeking Volunteer Coaches to commit one hour a week, either in the Spring or Summer.  The High School League runs April 14th through the end of school, and the Summer League will be for 5th-8th graders.  We are very fortunate that the Sheriff's Department offers this free and positive program for our youth.  If interested, please contact Ed Caisse at ed.caisse@sdh.state.ma.us or (413) 858-0225.  One hour/week commitment only!
