Holyoke to Hold First Signing Day Event for Future Educators
HOLYOKE, MA – The Holyoke Public Schools will be holding its first signing day event for future educators. Holyoke High School seniors Desiree Arena, Zoe Brazeau, Christina Simpson, and Shawnesse Thomas will sign letters of intent committing to attend Holyoke Community College (HCC), Westfield State University (WSU), and Fitchburg State University (FSU) to pursue a degree in the field of education. The event will take place on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at 11:00 AM at the Holyoke High School North Campus Shevlin TV Studio (500 Beech Street, Holyoke, MA).
“This ceremony serves as a means to celebrate and recognize the hard work and commitment of these high school seniors who are on the path to become future educators,” stated Holyoke Public Schools Human Resources Manager Kelly Curran. “We hope the event will also encourage and inspire others who may be interested in this career pathway.”
The students will be accompanied by their family, friends, district faculty and leaders, college and university representatives, and government leaders. We would like to congratulate Desiree, Zoe, Christina, and Shawnesse, and their families, who are extremely excited about this opportunity.
