Support for Families Displayed by Microburst
Family and Friends of the Holyoke Community,
Severe weather caused roofs to collapse in one of our Holyoke neighborhoods on Friday, May 15th. Over 100 families with close to 50 Holyoke students lost their homes and had to be evacuated that night. The majority of families displaced are now safely residing in area hotels. The Holyoke Public Schools are working with community partners to meet the needs of these families. As a school system, we are coordinating – mental health supports, food delivery, access to remote learning and a process for the community to provide necessary donations in a safe manner (SEE “COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE NEEDED! SECTION BELOW FOR DETAILS ON HOW YOU CAN HELP).
If you or someone you know has been displaced and is in need of support, please call our help hotline at (413) 561-0862 for English and (413) 314-3560 for Spanish.
COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE NEEDED!
