COVID Testing Site Updates & City of Holyoke COVID-19 Report

The City of Holyoke has made updates to the Stop the Spread Testing Sites in order to make them more accessible to Holyoke residents. First, staffing has been increased at both test sites. The staff at the drive-through site specifically has been doubled to lower wait times and increase the volume of vehicles that can be accepted.

In addition, changes have been made in operations at the drive-through site to clearly establish an end point in testing availability each day. The City’s hope is that this will eliminate the possibility of visitors waiting in long lines at the site and then being turned away at the end of the testing session (11am or 7pm).

Under this new procedure, the last eligible vehicle for testing (for that day’s testing session) will be established as soon as can be determined. That vehicle, and any vehicle in line before it, will be tested even if they do not reach the testing area by the set end of the session (11am or 7pm).

The testing sites have also previously been extended to March 31. Learn more.

As part of the #StoptheSpread effort, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health has set up free testing sites, including two sites in Holyoke – even for people who do not have any symptoms.

In preparation for the cold months, the location of the drive thru testing site at Holyoke Community College will move to the campus’ Lot H, effective Friday, November 6th.  To assist with the flow of traffic, Holyoke Community College will have parking attendants on-site. Map above.
