HOLYOKE — Superintendent/Receiver Anthony Soto has embarked on a listening and learning tour with Holyoke students, families, staff, partners, and community members as part of his Entry Plan at Holyoke Public Schools.
Soto has officially released his Entry Plan for Holyoke Public Schools, setting his vision and goals for the district in the upcoming year. Soto wants to combine his experience as a former student and as a professional leader in Holyoke schools with views and opinions from stakeholders across the school system to guide his decision-making going forward.
“The ultimate purpose of the entry plan is for me to build a deeper understanding of our district in order to set a clear path forward for our community that is inclusive of input from all stakeholders,” Soto said.
“As your Superintendent, I’m on a listening and learning journey. I am eager to meet with you, visit classrooms, review documents, and analyze data, so I can build a deeper understanding of our district and set a clear path forward for our community,” Soto said.
To gather insight from stakeholders, Soto will release a survey in October and host four listening sessions throughout the district between now and November. These sessions will help inform him as he continues to modify and improve Holyoke Public Schools. The sessions are:
- Virtual Community Partners and Community Members Meeting: Tuesday, Sept. 22, 9:30-10:45 a.m.
- In-Person Meeting for All: Tuesday, Oct. 12, 5-6:15 p.m. (Rain date: Tuesday, Oct. 19, 5:00 – 6:15 p.m.)
- Virtual Staff Meeting: Tuesday, Nov. 2, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
- Virtual Family Meeting: Wednesday, Oct. 20, 5:30-6:45 p.m.

Stakeholders can sign up to be a part of the listening sessions here.
“Your insights — the insights of our students, alumni, families, staff, community members, and partners — will help me recognize our strengths to build upon and identify areas for growth,” Soto said.
