11-19-21 Holyoke Update

Dear Families, Partners, and Colleagues,

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday (for those who celebrate), I am filled with gratitude for our students, teachers and staff who came to school this week reinvigorated after a long weekend and ready to learn.  Our staff’s dedication is noticed by our parents too.  Patrick O’Connor shared this on Facebook:

“I grew up hearing Spanish in my house and I forgot how important this is to me until I heard my two sons talking with each other in Spanish, and it brings it all back.  Thank you Metcalf!  My grandparents are smiling up above.”

Here are the topics in this week’s Holyoke Update:

  • Reminder: No School Nov. 24 – 26

  • School Closure in the Case of Inclement Weather

  • School Building Committee

  • Turnaround Plan Extension

  • Dual Language Task Force Update

  • Entry Plan Survey is still Open

  • Employment Opportunities

  • Cone of Excellence

  • COVID-19 Update

  • High School Updates

We look forward to seeing our students and staff for two full days of learning next Monday and Tuesday.  And then, I hope you safely enjoy the long weekend, starting on Wed, Nov. 24, with your friends and family.

Sincerely,

Mr. Anthony Soto, Superintendent/Receiver
