Members of the Teachers Retention Working Group

The Teacher Retention Working Group shared its recommendations report with the HPS School Committee during a presentation on Tuesday, March 12. The group previously shared the full report with Superintendent Anthony Soto on February 26. The report’s opening letter and executive summary are provided here in English and Spanish.

The group’s work is part of the district’s efforts to be the best-fit school district for educators and staff where they can grow professionally, feel supported, and make meaningful impacts on our students’ lives.

Superintendent Soto expressed his appreciation for all the educators who participated in focus groups, meetings and surveys. “I am especially grateful to the Retention Working Group and Teacher Advisory Group members for your leadership in the development of the report,” he said. “Your report contains many strong recommendations.”

Superintendent Soto will seek input from stakeholders over the next few months to prioritize actions for next school year and beyond. HPS has also committed to analyzing data and examining retention rates of other employee groups in 2024 as well.
