Dean Technical High School senior Daniel Garcia is a standout student and successful co-op participant who has made a meaningful impact through both his academic achievements and hands-on work in the district’s Technology Department.

Daniel is enrolled in the Programming and Web Design shop at Dean where he carries a 4.27 GPA and is the top ranked senior this year at Dean. He is also the only HPS student to earn a perfect score of 600 in the grade 10 math MCAS, which is a strong reflection of both his academic abilities and his dedication to his studies.

Daniel has spent his co-op placement this year working down the road from Dean at the district’s Central Supply building on Main Street where he logs hours gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.

“Daniel has been such an asset to us,” said HPS Technology Director Tim LaGrant. “If I had to put it into hours, I would say he’s probably saved us anywhere between 400 to 500 hours with just the work that he has done so far.”

Daniel works alongside the district's technology staff repairing tablets and Chromebooks, responding to tech support requests, and saving the district hundreds of hours of work in the process.

“It’s been good here,” said Daniel. “I’ve been getting a lot of experience, and I feel like I’m really helping out. It’s setting me on a good path.”
