Two students reading a play script at a table

HPS students who are headed into grades 6-12 in the fall can register for two-week journeys into the world of theater during the district’s Summer Theater Intensive—but don’t delay. Registration closes on Friday, June 12.

The program is offered in two different sessions of two weeks each. Interested students can sign up for either or both sessions.

Participants will have the chance to build acting skills, explore basic technical training, and collaborate on scenes and performances. Through daily workshops, rehearsals, and hands-on activities, students will gain confidence, creativity, and teamwork experience. It all leads up to a final showcase for family and friends. No previous theater experience needed; just bring your energy and imagination.

The program takes place in the auditorium of Holyoke High School North, 500 Beech Street. The program is free. It includes breakfasts and lunches during the week, plus dinner for participants on the final showcase day.

Session 1 runs from July 6-9 and July 13-15, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. The final showcase for session 1 is set for 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on July 16, with a performance for families and friends at 5 p.m.

Session 2 runs from July 20-23 and July 27-29, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. each day. The final showcase for session 2 is set for 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on July 30, with a performance for families and friends at 5 p.m.
