As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into education, Holyoke Public Schools seeks to develop a thoughtful, ethical, and forward-looking approach to how AI can support teaching and learning across the district.
To help guide this work, HPS is launching the Artificial Intelligence Task Force (AITF). The purpose of the task force is to help establish a shared vision for how AI should be understood and used in Holyoke Public Schools, ensuring that its use aligns with district values, supports educators, and prepares students with the knowledge and skills they need in an AI-influenced world.
The task force will explore how AI can be integrated responsibly and effectively to enhance student learning while maintaining strong standards for academic integrity, human judgment, transparency, and data privacy. To accomplish this, the group will research, analyze, discuss, and reflect on strong practices for AI integration in education, while taking into consideration Holyoke’s unique context (existing instructional practices, technology infrastructure, professional learning systems, community perspectives, and district resources).
