Four HPS schools have scheduled Acceleration Academy programs with an English-language arts (ELA) focus to support student learning during February break. The programs will run from February 20-24 and are only open to students enrolled in those schools.

The Donahue and Morgan programs are for students in grades 3-5 and will run from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. each day. The high school programs are for students in grades 9-12 and will run from 8 a.m.-12 noon each day. Lunch will be provided to all participants, and transportation is available to elementary students who meet the district’s transportation guidelines.

Staff from all four schools will be reaching out individually to students they believe would benefit from the program.

All four schools will offer a variety of English-language arts learning experiences. North and Dean will also offer student-centered learning experiences to help students prepare for MCAS testing, along with academic support, recreation, and enrichment opportunities. Donahue and Morgan students will have access to enrichment activities to learn new skills, discover strengths and interests, make new friends, and have fun.

April Acceleration Academies will also be offered during spring break, from April 17-21. More information will be shared about those opportunities in March and April.
