The 2023-24 school year was off to a strong start on Wednesday, August 30 for Holyoke’s elementary, middle, and high school students in grades 1-12. Across all of the district’s 12 school buildings—in every classroom, gymnasium, cafeteria, hallway, and playground—students were engaged in learning, connecting with their classmates and teachers, and strengthening and fueling themselves for a productive and joyful school year. Students in grades 1-12 will return on Tuesday, September 5 following the three-day Labor Day weekend. Students in PreK and kindergarten will start their new school year the following day, on Wednesday, September 6.
