November 1- No School for Lawrence Students

There will be NO SCHOOL again tomorrow, Wednesday, November 1 for Lawrence students and 10-month staff while emergency steam pipe repairs are continuing. This school closure does not affect any other HPS schools. Lawrence School is hoping to follow its regular schedule on Thursday; we will send a follow up tomorrow to confirm expectations for Thursday. This second no-school day also will need to be made up at a later date. We apologize for the inconvenience while we work diligently to ensure a safe environment for all students and staff.

To ensure students have access to healthy meals while Lawrence School is closed, we will offer bagged breakfasts and lunches for Lawrence students to pick up between 10 a.m. and 12:30 tomorrow. Look for the district’s colorful food truck parked inside the Lawrence playground. Students must be accompanied by an adult to pick up meals.

The meals will include:

  • For breakfast: Mini bagel with strawberry cream cheese, apple, very berry juice, cheese stick, and milk

  • For lunch: Ham and cheese sandwich, baby carrots, chocolate milk

Note: 12-month staff will be provided further directions about reporting to work. We need to assess accommodations.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding while these emergency repairs are completed. Once again, we are sorry this situation has occurred.
