During a Future Teacher Signing Ceremony on Friday last week, 10 Holyoke High School seniors signed letters of intent to become future teachers when they complete their undergraduate college education.

The students include:

  • Danielisse Calderon Colon; will be attending Holyoke Community College

  • Braeden Lamirande; will be attending Westfield State University

  • Ileana Lozada; will be attending Westfield State University

  • Taleishka Morales; will be attending Our Lady of the Elms College

  • Jomairis Ortiz Nieve; will be attending Holyoke Community College

  • Emma Puz; will be attending Western New England University

  • Miranda Rivera; will be attending American International College

  • Kathianne Robles Castillo; will be attending Holyoke Community College

  • Aliyah Rodriguez; will be attending Holyoke Community College

  • Faith Whitlock; will be attending Westfield State University

These 10 students were recognized during a dinner in their honor at Summit View Pavilion in Holyoke on Friday, May 5. The program included a welcome from HPS Assistant Superintendent Dr. Stephen Mahoney, with remarks from special guests State Representative Patricia Duffy and Holyoke Mayor Joshua Garcia. HPS Superintendent Anthony Soto offered a closing address. Representatives from American International College, Holyoke Community College, Our Lady of the Elms and Western New England University were also on hand.
