Holyoke Public Schools has successfully completed its 2025 summer programming, offering a wide range of engaging, hands-on learning experiences for nearly 1,000 students, supported by 300 staff members, in programs across the district.
“Over the course of five weeks, our programs were specifically tailored to help students strengthen academic skills, explore new interests, and connect with their peers in a supportive and fun environment,” said HPS Manager of Extended Learning Samantha Garcia.
Additionally, the district’s Extended School Year (ESY) program ensures that students with disabilities receive tailored academic and social-emotional support during the summer. ESY helps students maintain progress on their individual goals, provides consistent routines, and offers opportunities for inclusive enrichment activities.
“We are committed to providing every student with meaningful summer learning opportunities that meet their needs and celebrate their strengths,” Ms. Garcia said. “Our summer programs this year included opportunities to explore boating, fishing, environmental reading and writing, math, Spanish literacy, cooking, gym, art, and more, all designed to foster creativity, curiosity, and a love of learning.”
