On Monday, August 24, the City of Holyoke reported a water main break on Westfield Road behind Dino’s restaurant in the Homestead Avenue area. This break occurred in a main transmission line, so city officials say it has the potential to affect large portions of the city.
The Holyoke Water Department has confirmed that all areas of the city will have water, but some areas may experience low water pressure and possible discoloration. Crews are working now to reroute water from the main transmission line to other lines.
As a precaution, Holyoke Public Schools has taken steps to ensure we have bottled water available for drinking or food preparation, if needed at any of our affected schools.
