A bright and modern empty classroom.

On Monday April 10, Holyoke Public Schools concluded the second of two community conversations about the proposed new middle school, including an in-person meeting on Wednesday, April 5 at Holyoke High School North, as well as a virtual meeting on Monday, April 10.

For those unable to participate in these conversations, here are links (English and Spanish) to watch a recording of Monday’s virtual meeting, as well as links for the complete set of presentation slides (English and Spanish) used during both meetings.

During the two conversations, participants had opportunities to ask questions and offer input on a variety of aspects of the middle school proposal. If you haven’t already, you may provide your feedback by taking this quick survey by April 20. One of the survey questions refers to the model school design that Holyoke is considering. You can see the draft site plan and draft floor plan of the model school on these slides (in English and Spanish). You can also watch this video for an inside look at Goodnow Brothers Elementary School in Marlborough, MA—which was built using the same model design—to get a feel for what the new school in Holyoke would be like.
