Three students in turquoise and gold costumes with text: 'Mama Mia' is coming to Holyoke

Maybe you’ve seen the movie—or perhaps even a Broadway stage production—but you have not yet seen what a talented ensemble of students from Holyoke High School North students can do as they bring to life the fictional characters of “Mamma Mia!” for their school spring musical.

You should catch one of their upcoming productions. You’ll laugh, you’ll smile, and you might even want to hum along under your breath as they perform a wide range of popular songs you are sure to recognize. The plot is full of twists and turns, as bride-to-be Sophie Sheridan (played by 9th grader Abigail Bechard) secretly invites three men to her wedding on a fictional Greek island in hopes she can find out if one of them might be her father.

The plot unfolds from there, and if you want to know how it all turns out, be sure to attend one of the upcoming performances at HHS North, 500 Beech Street:

  • Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (April 9, 10, and 11) at 7:30 p.m.

  • Sunday (April 12) at 2 p.m.

Advance tickets can be purchased online: $8 for students and senior citizens; $10 for HPS staff; $12 for adults; and $20 for Golden Circle in the first five rows. Tickets can be purchased at the door as well.
