A group of STEM Beats musicians recently traveled to Memphis, Tennessee, to take part in the Association for Popular Music Education Live Conference—a gathering of non-traditional music students and educators from across the country—where they learned, performed, and were ultimately named “fan favorites.”
The 11 participating STEM Beats musicians include Raynya Motichka, Jaylin Baez, Noah Mateo, Angel Maldonado, Isabelle Lopez, Ben Lopez, Eileen Payamps, Vida Pena, Aisha Velez, Max Provencal, and Jian Santiago, along with their teachers, Aaron DiPilla and Maya Powe.
While in Memphis, STEM Beats musicians performed at various venues, from concert halls to restaurants, and witnessed performances from other incredible groups.
“Their passion and energy left an impression, earning them the title of fan favorite,” Mr. DiPilla said. “But this journey wasn’t just about performing—it was a learning experience that deepened students’ musical knowledge and grew their artistic spirits.”
