On Thursday June 1 during a late afternoon ceremony in the school gym, 85 HHS Dean students graduated after completing the requirements to earn their high school diplomas and  to complete their vocational programs. The ceremony included presentations by Class President Daisha Ramos Ortiz, Valedictorian Ruth Ortiz Torres, and Salutatorian Mirna Guzman.

Graduating seniors represented all nine of Dean’s Career and Technical Vocational programs, with cosmetology graduating the most with 15 students, culinary arts with 13, electrical with 11, carpentry with 10, health assisting with nine, programming and web development with eight, advanced manufacturing and auto collision each with six, and diesel technology with one student. 

Dean’s graduations by the numbers:

  • Nine graduating seniors earned High Honors, while 19 students earned Honors.

  • Fifteen graduates from Dean are members of the National Technical Honor Society

  • One graduating senior from Dean—Josue’ Montañez—was named the Vocational Student of the Year at Dean.
