Three high school seniors smile in front of a Holyoke Community College backdrop after enrolling in classes

Seniors at Holyoke High School North recently had the opportunity to enroll in college classes for the fall, just by dropping by a second-floor classroom during their regular school day.

Admissions staff from Holyoke Community College set up for the day to register previously accepted seniors for their fall college classes. With their assistance, seniors were able to set their schedule, work on their college financial aid paperwork, and connect with HCC staff about what to expect from college life.

After submitting their selections, students posed for pictures in front of an HCC photo backdrop. Pictured above are Vladimir Vazquez, Jadaleis Carmona, and Dereck Concepcion.

“The transition to college can be intimidating or feel overwhelming for many students,” said Anna Rigali, college and career counselor at HHS North, “but the HCC enrollment day at North helped make it logistically much easier for students to request transcripts and meet face-to-face with college counselors during the school day, without having to step outside their high school.”

HCC representatives will  return again on April 10 and May 2 to connect with more seniors to facilitate a smooth transition to college.
