What do packages of cinnamon raisin oatmeal and macaroni and cheese have in common? The way the Feed The Kids team makes them, each is a complete, balanced, and nutritious meal for one person.

Feed The Kids and HPS, in partnership with the Outreach Program, provide meals that fill nutrition gaps for children who typically rely on school lunch for their complete meals during the week. Volunteers package the food using low-cost bulk ingredients to make affordable meals that offer more nutrients per serving than their pre-packaged, store-bought counterparts. HPS students are provided these packaged meals as part of the Weekend Backpack Program.

Feed The Kids founders and volunteers Mary Kay Kadushin and Fred Kadushin provided an overview of the program and a behind the scenes look at the packaging process in this video, featuring insights from HPS Homelessness Services Coordinator Stefany Garcia.
