As summer is winding down and everyone prepares for the return to school, families are reminded to review this list of health and wellness requirements to ensure all steps are completed before the first day of school.

Physical exams

  • Students entering Grades K, 3, 6, and 9 must submit a current physical before the start of school.

  • Pre-K and Kindergarten students also need proof of one lead screening.

Vaccines

  • All students should be up to date on routine immunizations.

  •  Students in Grades 7–12 must receive the MenACWY vaccine.

Medical needs at school

Families of students who need medication or medical equipment during the school day must follow these steps to ensure their children can safely attend school:

  • Submit a signed prescriber’s order

  • Submit a signed parent consent form

  • Provide medication/supplies in original packaging with label in English

  • Bring a 30-day supply

  • Families should contact their school nurse to schedule a time to drop off medications and/or medical equipment. Drop offs must be scheduled to take place between August 19–22.

  • All items must be turned in together before the first day.
