Today’s return to school for students in grades 1-12 signaled a strong start for the 2025-26 school year, as teachers and staff welcomed students to their new classrooms with smiles, hugs, and joyful good cheer.

For students at Peck Middle School, Opportunity Academy, and Transitions Academy, today was an especially exciting first day—students were welcomed into classrooms at new (and newly repurposed) buildings to start their year at new campuses.

On hand to greet arriving students were district partners and friends from the Holyoke School Committee, Holyoke City Council, Holyoke Fire Department, Holyoke Police Department, and Holyoke City Hall.

Students in PreK and kindergarten will start their new school year on Wednesday, August 27.
