Holyoke Public Schools has selected 11 middle school students to receive one of the district’s most prestigious honors for students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership skills, and community involvement.
The district’s Rising Stars program recently celebrated its 32nd annual awards with a ceremony at Peck Middle School. There to cheer on this year’s Rising Stars were family members, principals, school FACE team members, and Mayor Joshua Garcia.
“The annual Rising Stars celebration is a joyful event that recognizes middle school students for their scholarship, leadership, and citizenship,” said Interim Superintendent Anthony Soto. “Each and every Rising Star is a role model and school leader with bright futures ahead.
