Dean Tech is offering a limited application window for students who will be in grades 10 and 11 for the 2026-27 school year. This opportunity is possible due to enrollment changes at the school as well as recent changes in state admissions policies for career and technical education.
“This opportunity is intended to provide interested students with access to available seats in Dean Tech’s Career and Technical Education programs,” said Principal Roseanne Caraciollo.
Interested students are encouraged to submit an application soon, as the deadline to apply is Friday, June 26.
Dean Tech offers state-approved Chapter 74 Career and Technical Education programs that prepare students for college, careers, industry credentials, cooperative education opportunities, and future workforce success. For the 2026-2027 school year, Dean Tech will also launch a new Early Education and Care program for incoming Grade 10 students.
“Families should understand that admission to Dean Tech for Grade 10 and Grade 11 is limited and based only on available seats in specific Career and Technical Education programs,” Ms. Caraciollo said. “Students who apply and are offered admission will only be offered placement in a program that has an available opening and is appropriate for the student’s grade level and program sequence.”
Families should also be aware that applying does not guarantee admission to Dean Tech or to a specific program of interest, she said. If more students apply than there are available openings, Holyoke Public Schools will run a lottery. Students not selected through the lottery may be placed on a waitlist.
Admission is conditional. Students must be promoted to the grade for which they are applying and must accept placement in the available Career and Technical Education program offered to them. A student who does not accept the available program placement will not be enrolled at Dean Tech through this admissions process.
The application process will follow the district’s approved Career Technical Education Recruitment, Admission, and Retention Policy. After the application closes on June 26, a lottery will be conducted the following week if applications exceed available seats. Families will then be notified by phone regarding their application status and any available program placement.
For questions or help completing an application, families may contact Holyoke Public Schools Enrollment Services at (413) 534-2000, Option 1.
