Superintendent Jackie Glasheen launched a new monthly video series on Tuesday, September 15, as part of her commitment to building one team for Holyoke.
Her first video brought her out on the Holyoke High School soccer field where she met with the four captains of the varsity girls soccer team, along with head coach Kellen Matthews.
“I am going to pick their brains today, and they are going to tell me how to build a really strong team,” Mrs. Glasheen said at the start of the video. In the minutes that follow, the athletes provided clear and direct guidance:
Be respectful.
Focus on communication.
Create a judgment-free zone.
See the team as family.
Be kind to everyone.
Be loyal to yourself and your teammates.
Be considerate of everyone around you.
