HPS Chief of Schools Sarita Graveline has been placed in charge of Peck Middle School temporarily.
Principal Kevin McGrath and Assistant Principal Arrin Brewer-Barnes have been placed on administrative leave while the district conducts an internal investigation into allegations of improper behavior that did not involve students, other staff, finance, or criminal behavior.
“Because this is a personnel matter that is still under investigation, I am limited in what I can share at this time,” said Superintendent Jackie Glasheen. “I am urging everyone to reserve judgment and to avoid sharing unsubstantiated information at this time. Both Principal McGrath and Assistant Principal Brewer-Barnes deserve to have these allegations fully investigated. There should be no rush to judgment.”
The district anticipates naming an interim principal next week.
“We are proud of the work that the Peck team has done,” Mrs. Glasheen said, “and we feel confident that we will maintain a consistent and safe learning environment for all students through this time.”
