4th grade student Autumn Stark stands with all the shoes she has collected.

Autumn Starks, a 4th grader at E.N. White, was upset when she heard about a classmate being bullied because of her shoes. After speaking with her mom about it, Autumn decided to do something to help solve the problem: She launched a shoe drive to support those in need throughout the community.

Autumn’s classroom teacher Jacqueline Jackson also inspired Autumn to take action after the teacher led a classroom discussion about teasing, embarrassment, caring and generosity while reading the children’s storybook “Those Shoes” by Maribeth Boelts.

Many of the shoes Autumn has collected have already been distributed, but since the need continues, Autumn is continuing her efforts too. Shoes can be dropped at E.N. White, 1 Jefferson Street, and school staff will make sure they are delivered to Autumn and her family for distribution in the area. Please watch the video below.
