Over the summer, students in grades K-8 participated in the district’s summer reading challenge, organized in partnership with the Holyoke Public Library. Students were challenged to read for 30 minutes a day during the eight-week break, both on their own and with their family.
This week, Superintendent Soto visited five students who submitted their logs, surprising them in their classrooms to present them with prizes. Students were awarded with either a tablet or a scooter, depending on their family’s preference.
Students who won awards include:
Lorena Berroa, grade 2, Kelly
Jackson Pennant, kindergarten, Kelly
Ramona Provost, grade 3, McMahon
Catalina Stallings, grade 5, McMahon
