McMahon School celebrated their Puerto Rican culture on Tuesday with a Balloons over Broadway Parade. The parade was a beautiful celebration of traditional Puerto Rican customs, dress, and music combined with a "Macy's Thanksgiving" Balloons over Broadway procession. The parade was led by HPS Superintendent, Holyoke Councilors Izzy Rivera and Jenny Rivera, and McMahon administrators Karyn McDermott and Erik Spracklin.

Did you know that chemicals when heated produce telltale colors? Chemistry students at HHS North now do, following a hands-on lesson in quantum mechanics with their teacher Mrs. Brochu. She led students through an experiment so they could identify unknown chemicals by comparing the colors they emit when heated with color reference information.
